Mr. Grogan
James Grogan is a 23 year, USAF combat veteran. He and his wife Cheryl moved to Wasilla, AK upon his retirement as an Air Force aviator and instructor.
James received his Bachelor’s of Science in Elementary Education from Montana State University & has Master degrees in Education, leadership & military history. He and Cheryl spent their first summer together working in Glacier National Park at a whitewater rafting company until James went into active duty service in October, 1990. Throughout his military career he has served in multiple countries overseas and multiple states here in the US.
James and Cheryl have two daughters, Kate and Sarah. Both are married to servicemen and have blessed James and Cheryl with 3 little granddaughters.
During their service, James and Cheryl homeschooled their two daughters, utilizing his diverse background in English, History, mathematics and physics.
James has a diverse background in education; participating in a co-op of California educators formulating curriculums for the Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics (STEM) program, working with the FAA’s Aviation Safety and Education programs in Hawaii, Nevada, California & Alaska. He was the curriculum manager for the C-130 J model aircraft. He was an instructor in the USAF’s C-130 Schoolhouse as well as being an Adjunct professor for flying and safety courses.
As a USAF Test/evaluator/instructor pilot James also has extensive time teaching multi-national students in Safety, Logistics, Signature management, and various other courses.
James’ hobbies include training Service Animals for veterans and first responders, playing guitar/Ukulele, and woodworking. He also coaches swimming to students of all ages.
In service to others James hopes to continue utilizing the gifts God has provided him.
