Miss Kateri Houser

Miss Kateri Houser

As a life long Catholic, Miss Kateri Houser strives to let her faith and trust in our Lord guide her through life. She spent her early years travelling the country as a military brat until her family retired to Alaska when she was 12. Here in Alaska she deepened her love of God and His creation and developed an insatiable desire to learn more about Him and His wonders.   To further her quest for knowledge and adventure  she attended Wyoming Catholic College. While at school she adventured and worked through the Wyoming mountains and desert, the doctors of the Church, ancient Greeks, and philosophers throughout history. She graduated from WCC in 2019 with a Bachelor of Liberal Arts. After working a novel industrial farming initiative with the State of Michigan Division of Agriculture and Rural Development Pilot Program for a year Kateri found herself back in  Alaska with a desire to  help in her local community. She has been a volunteer Hunter Education instructor for the State of Alaska Department of Fish and Game since 2013 and continues to share her respect for the natural world and man's role as steward through this ministry.   Her hobbies include backpacking, wood-burning art, reading anything she can get her hands on, all with the company of her loyal dog, Levi.

As a teacher, Kateri aims to show her students the beauty of God's creation, the love of their Mother in Heaven, how a virtuous life is a good life, and to foster in them a love for learning in all areas of life at all hours of the day.
